The Lexus Melbourne Cup Tour is Coming to York
York Racing Inc. is proud to announce that our historic town has been selected as a host destination for the prestigious 2025 Lexus Melbourne Cup Tour, presented by the Victoria Racing Club (VRC).
On Thursday, 7 August 2025, the iconic 18-carat gold trophy—affectionately known as The People’s Cup—will visit York as part of its national tour.
This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our community to share in the magic of the Melbourne Cup, one of Australia’s most cherished sporting traditions. As the oldest provincial racecourse in Australia, York has a rich racing heritage, and we’re excited to celebrate this moment with a day of festivities.
The highlight of the visit will be a special Melbourne Cup Tour Luncheon at the York Racecourse Members Lounge. The event will showcase the trophy, feature guest speakers, and raise important funds to support the future of York Racing Inc.
