Yes. Children under 16 receive free general admission when accompanied by a responsible adult. Children must remain under adult supervision and are not permitted in designated licensed areas. 

Each Trackside Tent provides a reserved trackside base for up to 10 guests, with general admission included for all 10 guests.

Front Row Trackside Tents are $400, while Second Row Trackside Tents are $350. Food and beverages are not included but can be purchased throughout the day.

Yes. You are welcome to bring your own food and enjoy a race-day picnic. Please do not bring glass containers or any items that could create a safety risk. 

No. York Racecourse is a licensed venue, BYO alcohol is not permitted.

Beer, wine, sparkling, spirits and non-alcoholic refreshments will be available to purchase from the onsite bars. Responsible service of alcohol requirements apply.

Yes. Free onsite parking is available for cars and buses.

Please follow event signage and the directions of our parking attendants when you arrive. Accessible parking is also available for eligible permit holders.

The general admission areas of York Racecourse are wheelchair accessible. Please note that the upstairs Members’ Lounge is not currently wheelchair accessible.

If you have particular accessibility requirements, please contact us before Cup Day so we can help you plan your visit.

Yes. You are welcome to bring a picnic rug or portable folding chair for use in the general admission areas.

Please position chairs and rugs thoughtfully so that access paths, emergency exits and other guests’ views remain clear.

Chairs are not permitted infront of trackside tents. 

Dogs and other pets are not permitted at York Cup. Accredited assistance animals are welcome. 

York Cup will generally proceed in wet weather, so please check the forecast and dress accordingly.

In the event of extreme weather or conditions that affect the safety of racing or the event, updates will be published through York Racecourse’s website and Facebook page.

EFTPOS facilities are available at the racecourse office, however internet connectivity can occasionally be affected during large regional events. We recommend bringing a payment card and a small amount of cash as a backup.

Please note that ATM availability cannot be guaranteed.

Gates open at 11.30am. The official race schedule and first-race time will be released closer to the event once the race fields and program have been confirmed.

We recommend arriving early so you have time to park, find your preferred spot and enjoy the pre-race atmosphere.

York Cup is a wonderful opportunity to dress up and enjoy traditional race-day style. Smart casual clothing is suitable, while guests entering Fashions on the Field are encouraged to embrace their best spring racing fashion.

As much of the event takes place outdoors and on grass, we recommend comfortable footwear, sun protection and a warm layer for the evening.

Yes. Pass-outs are available if you need to leave and return during the event. Please speak with gate staff before leaving and retain your ticket or wristband for re-entry.
